13 Oct Kamstrup: Internship in Data Driven Wireless Technology
Are you interested in wireless communication systems? Are you eager to learn more about statistical analysis and data science? Do you want to try out your theoretical competences on existing wireless communication systems deployed at a customer? Are you interested in becoming part of an interdisciplinary R&D department with experienced and committed colleagues?
Become part of the team investigating new wireless technology in Kamstrup
Kamstrup is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of smart metering systems for energy and water consumption. As intern in our R&D department within Wireless Communication, you will have a central role investigating emerging wireless technologies. You will be an integrated part of the department alongside engineers and Ph.D.’s in an interdisciplinary, multi-cultural, department, where you will partake in the development of intelligent algorithms for performance evaluation and predictive maintenance in wireless smart metering systems. You will become part of a strong work environment where you will experience that freedom with responsibility and personal development are in focus.
An internship with focus on concept development
During your internship you will be part of our research team, where we investigate and qualify new concepts for Kamstrup’s wireless technology. The focus will be on data science, investigating the behaviour and performance of the smart metering devices deployed in the field, and developing algorithms for detecting specific events in a plethora of data parameters. You will experience all phases of a normal development project at Kamstrup, from idea, evaluation, design and prototype implementation, and will thus be acquainted with most aspects of the job as development engineer at Kamstrup.
You will be working with one or more of the following areas during the internship:
- Statistical data analysis
- Data science and machine learning
- Propagation theory for wireless signals
- Performance analysis of wireless systems
- Data analysis and visualisation in Python
The specific content of the internship we plan together according to your ambitions and competences. It is also possible to work with the topic described above as a semester project or M.Sc. thesis of 6-12 months duration.
We seek a devoted student who can contribute to the R&D department with her/his updated theoretical knowledge. You are currently studying a relevant engineering degree, for example within electrical engineering or Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and you have a flair for mathematics, communication theory and software development.
You are curious by nature and thorough and structured as a person, which enables you to unravel even the most complex challenges bit by bit. You are capable of working independently with a sense for detail and you actively seek sparring with your colleagues in the pursuit of the optimal solution to a problem.
You are fluent in English – both oral and written. Danish will be an asset, but not a requirement.
We offer you more than an internship
We offer an exciting and educational internship where professional coaching is an integrated part of the workday.
At Kamstrup, we focus a lot on the social relations between our interns across the organization and if you are ready, we offer you an exciting spring with great challenges and teamwork. In 2019, we were also elected by Aarhus Municipality and the international student house, Studenterhus, Aarhus to be the best internship company in eastern Jutland on the basis of our work with interns.¨
The internship is paid, if your place of study allows it. In addition, we offer many employee benefits, among others a great canteen scheme, free fruit, fitness facilities, in-house dentist, hairdresser and a free health care clinic.
