Volunteer with us

As a volunteer at Studenterhus Aarhus, you’ll get social and professional skills you won’t get anywhere else. We are the only place in Aarhus where everything is under one roof. Our task is to build bridges between people, between student life, culture life, and business life. We are a student house, a community, a cultural center, a networking hub, a non-profit organisation, a concert hall, a bar, a social space, a café, a meeting place for students and businesses, a running club, and much much more. Volunteer with us, and make Aarhus the best student city in the world.

Do you dream of an exciting and creative future in cultural life? Are you passionate about culture, art, music, experience economy, or event design and management, and are you between 18 and 30 years old?

Then you have the opportunity to become part of the community at Studenterhus Aarhus, a youth-run cultural center in the Aarhus student environment.

As part of the Culture Group, you will have the opportunity to try your hand at creating, designing, and running cool events. You will be part of the entire process, from idea generation to the execution of cultural experiences and your own projects.

As a culture creator at Studenterhuset, you will collaborate with other young people in the house and the city’s countless youth and student environments. You will have a safe environment where you can let your imagination run wild and create what you think is missing in cultural life.

What does it mean to be a culture creator at Studenterhuset?
  • You are between 18 and 30 years old.
  • You are passionate about culture, art, and/or organizing events.
  • You are studying/reading (or want to) at a higher education institution in Aarhus (Kaospilot, Aarhus University, School of Architecture, VIA, Business Academy, AAMS, DMJX, BSS)
  • You will be a member of Studenterhuset for at least 6 months (one semester)
  • You want to be part of a diverse and inclusive community with multiple nationalities.

Does this sound like something for you?
Then send an email with some information about yourself and what you would like to do to Mathias Folke, Culture and Events Manager, at mathias@studenterhusaarhus.dk.
Become a volunteer in the International Group!

Our International Group constitutes ESN Aarhus, and it is our mission to make Aarhus the best city to be an international student. The International Group, better known as I-Group, is for anyone who wants a vast international and Danish network and for anyone who wants to make great events and projects for international students.

I-Group does activities for international students on exchange or full degree. We plan and execute introductions for new students in August and January, and create events throughout the semesters for both Danish and International students. We make everything from the famous I-Nights every Tuesday to cultural events, lectures, trips, dinners, language cafés, and career events. At our events international students get to know the rest of Denmark and the Danes.

As part of I-Group, you’re responsible for the planning and execution of our activities. We expect you to take at least two shifts each month, and be the main project manager on at least one project. You’ll become part of a diverse and social team, and collaborate with people from all over the world.

Interested?

Send an e-mail to Sigrun Schaumburg-Müller, our International Coordinator, at sigrun@studenterhusaarhus.dk

If you like meeting people, experiencing bar or café life from the other side of the counter, and being part of a fun organisation, keep on reading!

Our bar group is our biggest volunteer team. As a volunteer bartender at the Student House, you get the chance to be a part of loads of events (concerts, parties, talks, etc.) all while getting to know students from all over the world!

What does being a volunteer bartender mean, you ask?

It means 3-4 shifts a month, either in our Study Café or at events in the Student House. Shifts can be during the day or during the evening/night. Lengths of shifts can vary, but usually a shift is 4-6 hours. You can take the shifts that fits your schedule.

Experience is not required! We’ll teach you everything you need to know. The most important thing we expect from you is energy, being a respectful person and enthusiasm for being part of a fun and important student organisation.

What do you get out of this?

Meeting people (both Danish and international), discovering a different side of life in Aarhus, gaining new skills and being part of a non-profit organisation that supports student life. Plus, you get a great group of co-workers and new friends!

The group consists of around 60 volunteer bartenders supported by a handfull of group leaders who is there to help and guide you as you start your volunteering experience.

If this sounds like something for you, send an email to volunteer@studenterhusaarhus.dk and our bar manager or group leader will get in touch! Remember to include your contact information when you write us as well as including for how long you will stay in Aarhus.

Are you a trivia enthusiast with a love of pub quizzes? If you have the questions, we have the answer: Join the student house pub quiz group!

Every Monday Studenterhus Aarhus hosts a pub quiz in our cosy basement bar – every other Monday in Danish, every other Monday in English.

The quizzes are created and hosted by students, and we are looking for volunteers to join our wonderful group of quiz-lings. As a quiz-ling, you help create the quizzes and host the quizzes throughout the semester. You become part of a friendly volunteer group, and a social, internationally minded house.

If this sounds like something for you, or you would like to know more, contact Quiz group leaders at pubquiz@studenterhusaarhus.dk

In the Studenterhuset Beer Group, we are currently looking for more volunteers who would like to spread beer enthusiasm to all the fantastic students and other guests who stop by Studenterbaren.

The Beer Group organizes beer events (both tastings and beer festivals, including the Aarhus Together beer festival), offers beer education for bartenders, and communicates the many great qualities of beer – and YOU can be part of it! You don’t need to have extensive knowledge of beer; the only requirement is that you have an interest in beer.

If this sounds like something for you, please send an email including the following:

1 – A short description of yourself and what you are currently doing.
2 – Which skills you have that you think could be useful for the Beer Group.

Send your application to the following email no later than January 25th 2026:

oelgruppen@studenterhusaarhus.dk

If you have any questions for us, feel free to write to us.

We look forward to hearing from you! Cheers! 🍻
